Kim Welliver graduated from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 2013. She received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Wake Forest University in 2016. Kim is a North Carolina board-certified licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) and is a national certified counselor (NCC).
Kim’s clinical experience includes a practicum and internship, both completed with Southlake Counseling. She enjoys working with those who suffer from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders. Kim is certified in the New Ways for Families program and works with families involved in high-conflict divorce.
Kim has an eclectic approach to counseling and she caters to each client’s unique needs. She has a special focus in applying a combination of dialectical behavioral therapy, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral perspectives. Kim enjoys working with clients of all ages, from children as young as nine through adults. When not working, Kim enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, going to the lake, and attending sporting events. Kim is also a swim coach for SwimMAC Carolina and can be found on the pool deck in the evenings.
